Shake It ‘Til You Make It

Lagree never gets easier. It isn’t supposed to. Instead, you get stronger. You gain the ability, and the resolve, to do harder things. And it’s your strong commitment to the method - to showing up to class and letting the shakes take over - that lays the foundation for building your strong body and mind.

For our Lagree beginners, DriveTrain encourages you to commit to regular class attendance. It’s OK to make modifications and take breaks while you’re here! Doing a plank move at the back of the Megaformer may seem bananas to you right now, but we promise, shaking it out at the front, and pausing to shake it off and reset, will still make you stronger.

Class by class, you will strengthen your core, your shoulders and wrists, and your belief in yourself. And one day you’ll walk into the studio, and realize you’ve made it…to the back of the Mega to begin your shakes anew!

For our Lagree veterans, DriveTrain challenges you to bring back the shakes to movements that have become routine for you now. Commit to one consistent form or technique improvement per month.

Maybe you set your sights on lunging deeper, or doing your holds and pulses with your arms overhead.

Maybe you focus on squeezing your glutes, zipping your legs together, and pressing down hard through your shins during any kneeling center core movement.

Maybe you add another yellow spring to your Tricep Pulldowns. To your entire upper body series.

Or maybe you just focus on slowing down every rep you do. Your standard 4-count becomes a 6-count, your 6-count an 8-count. Even better, complement your sloth-slow reps with lickety-split transitions between exercises. How fast can you move from a Giant Kneeling Crunch to an Elevator Lunge? An Elevator Lunge to a Mega Donkey Kick? A Mega Donkey Kick to a Back Lunge?

The reality is, once you’ve been doing Lagree for a while, you also need to make it ‘til you shake it - make yourself new challenges to conquer that will keep your workout fresh, and keep the shakes alive!
